Collaborations

In ZimTrade's bid to boost export contribution per province, Bulawayo was earmarked as a leather & leather products stronghold. Given the abundant availability of raw materials within the livestock rich surrounding regions, a higher output of leather & leather products from the former industrial hub of Zimbabwe is expected. The cluster aims to see an increase in value-added leather products being exported from the country. The export leather cluster is a collaboration between TAFLAZ & ZimTrade. At present, the cluster is comprised of 6 major contributors who are forming the trial cluster known as The Zimbabwe Leather Collective. ZimTrade will work directly with the cluster champion & chair of TAFLAZ who will cascade resolves to other cluster members. We provide support to the leather industry, by developing marketing and promotional tools to promote the use of Zimbabwean Leather and Leather goods. We provide a central place for collective lobbying for support towards government policy creation or amendments for the benefit of the industry.
